The Atlantic ICW and the Gulf ICW connect through th Okeechobee Waterway. TheOkeechobee Waterway is a man-made waterway stretching from Fort Myers on the west coast of Florida to Stuart on the east coast of Florida. It was built/finished in 1937 to provide a water route across Florida, allowing boats to pass east--west across the state rather than travelling the long route around the southern end of the state.
The St. Lawrence River's source is the Atlantic Ocean north of Maine. It flows southwest through Ontario and Quebec, then forms the boundary between New York state and Canada before terminating at its estuary into Lake Ontario.
