The best way to check for vehicles that have a good history is by visiting the website of some trusted dealers in your area. You can also try Googling "Vin Search" and the top results on the first couple of pages are usually the most trusted ones.

I did not find a way to check the VIN on your own, however, I did find a website DMV.org. I have not owned a motorcycle so I have not performed this search for a VIN personally. But this website seems to be very user friendly.
If I were looking for Vin number I would check the department of motor vehicles or the DMV. They should be able to at least let you know where to go if they fail to tell you themselves

They don't have a website or a search engine where you can actually look up your vehicle. I know it's dumb. But you can call the denver impound and ask them to search for your car with your plate number or vin number.
