First of all, I would suggest that you invest in an inexpensive scale. But for the time being, one slice of Nature's Own Whole Wheat bread (or pretty much any sliced sandwich bread) is about 1 oz. One slice of cheese, e.g., Kraft singles is supposed to weigh an ounce. I have found that one slice of deli cheese is pretty close to one ounce, though.

1/8 cup of water or dip. this is the same as 2 tbsp. I dont know if this will apply to you, but for me that serving is about the same size as a tightly wadded piece of paper or both of my thumbs put together.

An ounce (oz.) is a unit of mass and exerts an ounce-force (or 1/16th of a pound-force) on a scale due to earth's gravity. The exact amount of this force depends on the force of gravity which in turn depends on things like location and elevation.

There is also the fluid oz which is a unit of volume. 16 fluid oz make up a pint and a pint of water has a mass of approximately one pound. The exact value depends on temperature. At 70 degrees the value would be approximately 1.0410845 pounds (see link). An oz of other liquids would usually have a different weight.

An "ounce" is part of the Imperial system of measurement. It is used to measure both weight and liquid, although when measuring liquid it is usually called a "fluid ounce."

When measuring weight, an ounce is one sixteenth of a pound (avoirdupois) or one twelfth of a pound (Troy); converted to metric, about 28 grams and 31 grams respectively.

When measuring liquid, it is one eighth of a cup.

500 sheets of 20 pound bond paper weighs 5 pounds or 80 ounces, so 6 and 1/4 sheets of that paper will weigh 1 ounce. Unfortunately, the relative humidity might effect the weight.
