The inline Jaguar 4.0 engine uses 8 quarts of oil. This is true for the supercharged XJR as well. This series or XJ300 model by Jaguar using the inline or straight 6 all use this many quarts Be prepared if you take it in to any shop for an oil change since their pricing only applies to vehicles using up to 5 quarts so be prepared to bring in 3 additional quarts and they will pour them in without charge.
