Advantages:
-Colonists would have their own protection, and won't have to get England's permission.
-Soldiers would be housed, and provided with food and clothing, and promised land after the war.
Disadvantages:
-Colonists were inexperienced and outnumbered, lacked guns and ammo
-Already being attacked by the Indians, and they do not have a good economy.
