As a pair, Caesar and Cleopatra had an agreement. Cleopatra/Egypt owed Caesar a massive debt which had been incurred by Cleo's father. If Caesar wanted his money, he had to make certain Cleopatra gained and stayed on the Egyptian throne, as taxes and state confiscation of property was the only way a government could raise money. Therefore Caesar established Cleopatra on the throne and made a show of Roman force after doing it. Cleopatra in turn, began paying off the huge debt. As individuals, we all know of the accomplishments of Julius Caesar--Gaul, the dictatorship, the calendar, etc., etc., and there were no individual accomplishments of Cleopatra with the exception of a temple she built to Julius Caesar after he was killed.
