There was a fierce rivalry between the Library of Alexandria and the [[What was the Library at Pergagmum|Library of Pergamum]]. At one point, Alexandria stopped exporting papyrus to slow down its competitor. However, Pergamum started making books using animal hides. Also, scholars were discouraged from leaving Alexandria to go to Pergamum, and one of Alexandria's [[Who was in charge of the Library of Alexandria|Directors]], [[Who was Aristophanes of Byzantium|Aristophanes of Byzantium]] was thrown in prison to prevent him from going to Pergamum. Eventually this ended when Mark Antony donated the Pergameme Library to Cleopatra, then ruler of Egypt.

"Satin" is a fabric, so let's assume you mean the devil or satan... Pergamum or Pergamon no longer exists. It was an ancient Greek city that would have been near the modern city of Bergama in Turkey. Satan doesn't "live" anywhere and that would include the ancient Pergamum.
