After creating him and putting him in this special garden with instructions on what to eat and not to eat, God sees that Adam is alone and decides he needs a partner, for the purpose of which He takes a rib from Adam and uses it to create Eve. The name of the first is Pishon: it is the one which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: it encompasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: it goeth toward the east of Assyria.
