The Bread colonies were the "middle colonies", or New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. They got their name from the large amount of grain exports.
Fishing, timber, livestock, and shipping industries became the focus. There was still some subsistence farming to be had in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
Massachusetts was first settled by the Pilgrims in 1620.
Massachusetts didn't exist as Massachusetts in the 1600's so there was no economy.
