Knights in the 1500s were in decline with the more often introduction of national armys and fall of feudal system, nobles were starting to pay mercenaries rather than go fight themselves, but yet, the knights at that time were stil a feared force on the battlefield.
In the 1500s, knights were still elite warriors who were part of the nobility. They were trained in combat skills such as swordsmanship and horsemanship. However, their role was becoming more ceremonial and less focused on actual battlefield combat due to advancements in warfare technology.
A knight did not spend all his life fighting. During peace time a knight would go to maetings of parliamaent or to advise the king at the royal court.
