in the Dow Jones its 30 and in the S&P 500 there is 500. The NASDAQ has a ton and so does the NYSE... They are just weighted averages.
News Corp. moved from NYSE to NASDAQ in 2008. That might not help but it is my answer...

As i searched it on Nasdaq and NYSE, there is no stock symbol of stauer.
the number of characters says where its traded, for instance one or two is on the NYSE, if its three is traded on the AMEX or NYSE, its its four or five its on the NASDAQ. the meaning is because the NYSE is the oldest so it has the least characters, the NASDAQ is the latest so it has the most characters
