∙ 7y agoI don't know that you could say she had failures, but when Washington died she was so upset she didn't leave her room and watched his funeral from the window. Letters from Abigail Adams talk about Mrs. Washington as First Lady organized teas every week. The teas were required attendance by Adams because her husband was Vice President and on Tuesday every week she had to hold a tea. She also writes about the dinners given by Washington and the expansive menus. I think Mrs. Washington was a very proper woman who wanted all things done correctly.
