While it's nearly impossible to describe a sound, a genre of music can be judged by what instruments are played. A popular instrument that is commonly used in Country Music is the steel guitar. it is typically played like a lap harp, and has a bit of twang to it. The banjo is another instrment that country artists are fond of. If you wish to hear an example of a country song, I would recommend listening to Wildflower by The JaneDear Girls.

One way that Country Music can affect American Culture is that most songs are based on life experiences like some songs are getting over a family death and it could touch the hearts of people who are going through that... that is just one example... does anybody else have any more ways?

Country Music is sort of on the same wave length as the Blues (music of course is different.) Generally both types of music tells a story that could have happened to the artist singing. Both Country and the Blues comes from the heart and soul. It could be about love, lost love, missing the State he/she came from, a cheating man/woman. Sometimes the artist will slip some up beat tunes in there as well from some good memories they have had.
