The dinosaurs were the dominant land animals during the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, rising to dominance during the late Triassic.
During the Tertiary period, dominant organisms included early mammals, large birds, marine mammals like whales and dolphins, and diverse plant species. This period saw the rise of modern mammals, along with the evolution of grasslands, forests, and flowering plants. The Tertiary period also saw the decline of dinosaurs and the rise of more familiar animal groups.
Reptiles were the primary large animals during the Cretaceous period. On land, there were dinosaurs, in the air were pterosaurs, and the oceans were inhabited by plesiosaurs and mosasaurs.
I know that the angiosperms were most dominant during the cretaceous period but im not too sure about the dinosaurs dominant era. I would assume they were both dominant in the same era but I am not 100% sure.Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Dinosaurs_and_angiosperms_were_dominant_lineages_during_with_geologic_era#ixzz1G5bqBpQR

Metazoans were abundant during the Vendian Period.
They were dominant during the mesozoic era, which was made up of the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods.
It was a warm tropical place in which many angiosperms (flowering plants) developed and became dominant. Because of this, many new herbivores appeared and others went extinct. The Cretaceous Period was hot and dry.
