Ending the Korean War.
demilitarized zone
an armistice was signed by the North Koreans and Nato forces
Korean War 25 June 1950-27 July 1953.It began June 25th, 1950, the cease fire was signed July 27th, 1953, oddly enough, the war has never ended officially.
It was on the Korean Peninsula. That's why it is called the Korean War.
The Korean War was followed by the Vietnam War.
The Korean War was practically a conventional WWII fight from day one, then it transitioned into a WWI fight...equipped with stale-mated trenches and the whole works...ultimately even ending like WWI did; with an armistice. WWI, WWII, and the Korean War (for the US) even lasted about same times: 3 years (one year for the US during WWI). Vietnam grew like a cancer and lasted 5 times longer than the Korean War...AND unlike the Korean War...Vietnam was a communist victory!
Through compromises and negotiations.
The Korean War was fought to a stalemate.
