Catholic AnswerJohn Calvin did nothing to reform the Church. He left the Church as a young man to become a protestant. He was the opposite of M. Luther, a scholastic, and he became a protestant minister, wrote the Institutes, and is almost as famous as M. Luther as a founding protestant, although he was a generation later.
