He introduced bail into England in 1485. :) Bail allowed those convicted of a non-serious crime, e.g. theft, to pay a perscribed amount of money so they could be released during the time before their trial, because Richard believed it was not fair for an innocent person to stay in prision before their trial. The bail you payed was no longer valid if you travelled abroad in the time you were released. If you were convicted for a serious crime, e.g murder, and the authorities thought you could commit the crime again, the option of bail was not given.
Sorry, but Richard III did not introduce bail into England. He enacted bail reforms, as had kings before him, but bail itself existed centuries before Richard III became king.
in all accounts, Richard III was not an evil monarch and did not do bad things. He was a promoter of education, and established bail in England. He was not an unjust ruler.
Poor Richard III actually DIDN'T have a hump, but his left arm didn't really move properly and he couldn't hold things with his left arm. Also, he didn't walk like the Humpback of Notro Dame. He walked normally, but Henry VII boasted about that he had defeated Richard III, and made fun of Richard III that his arm was weird, he walked like a dwarf, and that Richard III did have a hump. The truth is, Richard III was quite of a nice guy, but he did do some of the things Henry VII had said.
