Jacques Alexandre Cesar Charles, not to be confused with Jacques Charles was a French inventor, and primarily a balloonist.. He was aboard the first manned hydrogen balloon flight.

jacques alexandre cesar charles was famous for discovering one of the basic gas laws, Charles and his classmate Edwin La'Fransuele made the first balloon animal, they called it hydrogen balloons, they both always "goofed off" in class which, when they went too far by launching a rocket at the teacher caused both of them to get expelled, later that year La'Fransuele commited suicide, as for Charles, he got kicked out of Harvard Law school
