JUNE 6, 1944Since the paratroopers landed soon after midnight, that meant their troop-carrying airplanes departed their airbases on 5 June. Also, lead elements called "pathfinders", were dropped in earlier so they could help guide the troop carrier planes to their drop zone. Some of these may have dropped in prior to Midnight. I think the British had a glider unit land prior to midnight on the 5th.
Yes some German spies did get to Britain after being dropped in the North Sea. However they were extremely disoriented as they hadn't expected street signs and place names to be painted over or removed.
