They were definitely 15 inch rims and the tires were most likely 205/75R-15
The tires that came stock on the 1959 Impala were the OEM. On the convertible they were the 235 blue-flame tires. OEM stands for the original equipment manufacturer.

Hi, I have 215/70 15 on my 79 2 door. I have super sport rally wheels. I can't make out the original door tag or I could look it up for you. Mine starts with a 7 and ends with a B. I have also run 205/75 15 on the same rims. Hope this helps.
