Pikes Peak is also known as "America's Mountain" due to its prominence and accessibility. It has been referred to as "Tava" by the Ute Native Americans, meaning "the sun." Additionally, it was historically known as "Pikes Peak" after explorer Zebulon Pike, who was one of the first to survey the mountain in the early 19th century.
