There were so many technological differences it is staggering. I will try to mention some of the significant ones. -The semi-auto rifle had been perfected, machine guns, particularly the German designs had much improved, tanks were much more mobile and heavily armed. Aircraft were now mostly monoplanes and much faster. Fabric coverings of aircraft were now aluminium sheet. Bomber aircraft now had proper bomb sights and much more protection in the form of gun turrets.
