Egypt has a good relationship with Sudan. It does not have a great relationship with some other areas nearby. Relationships with Iran, and Iraq change from good to not good. Its relationship with Israel is often strained. However, Egypt has attempted to play a role in bringing peace in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Egypt also has a good relationship with Libya.
Though the Sahara desert is just on the outskirts of Egypt, the soil around the Nile delta is quite fertile and good for growing crops. The land was also good for growing grain and during ancient times, Egypt was known as the breadbasket of the east.
As they were slaves in Egypt, they had no choice but to eat what was given. Sometimes good food was given, but they could have gone hungry for days. They grumbled to Moses that they ate well in Egypt.
In many desert areas the water contains a high concentration of minerals dissolved from the soil and may not be safe to drink. In other deserts where the water flows from surrounding mountains the water may be purer with less mineral content. Deserts with springs that form an oasis may have water that is safer to drink.

Deserts like Egypt have rivers like the Nile, which flood and provide fertile soil for good farming, they have cataracts, or natural river barriers, that block the rivers at certain places. The climate was hot and dry, which meant farming wasn't too good unless there was a fertile delta or river nearby.

Historians noticed they could distinguish three different times in Egypt's history. The three kingdoms were time periods of Ancient Egypt. Each era represented a different time of growth in Egypt. In the Old Kingdom Pharaoh's were considered gods and ruled supremely over the land. In the Middle Kingdom Egypt experienced a Golden Age. Pharaoh's were expected to be good and wise leaders. In the New Kingdom Egypt became a world power and expanded their borders. Pharaoh's were also the most powerful person in the land.
All in all, visits to the deserts can be easily enjoyed, with the proper prior preparations.
