1. The three success of the western imperialism consist of colonies, protectorates, and spheres of influence. Both France and Britain developed different kinds of Imperial rule, both westernizing future generations in their own separate ways. France westernized by gradually turning the colonies into French provinces, and Britain westernized by encouraging the young working class to become educated, and create better future generation. The protectorates taught countries to function on their own and run their own government, even though they were under an outside power. The spheres of influence westernized by taking trade and the economy to the next level.

(1) Westerners had more advanced weaponry and military strategies than the peoples that they conquered.

(2) Westerners had a more effective system of organization and management relative to the local population.

(3) Westerners derived prestige and value through the subjugation of Non-Western people and "civilizing" them (inculcating them in European customs).
