Woundnt work since there's a different bellhousing assembly , not to mention totally different engines. Eventhough same 1.8l but entirely different...
look at the front of the engine on the bottom pulley known as crank shaft at a 10:00 position and another one at bottom of the bellhousing where the transmission meets the engine slightly to the passenger side

Where is the transmission plug on a 1998 cadillac
The bell housing should be the same. You're probably thinking of the other end of the transmission... there is a difference between the 4WD and 2WD transmission, where the 2WD transmission has an output which goes directly to the driveshaft, while the 4WD transmission has a mounting face for a transfer case, and the output goes into the transfer case... just find a 4L60E from a 2WD vehicle, and spare yourself a lot of hassle.
What type of transmission does a 1998 Astro van have
Type your answer here... The bellhousing will bolt up to the rear of the engine, But that's it. Nother words it won't work. If you truck is a 3/4 ton Then it MUST have the 4L80E transmission put back it it. The 1/2 tons used the 4L60E in them. NO OTHER TRANSMISSIONS WILL WORK.
I cannot find the transmission lipstick on my 1998 F-150 with a manual transmission.
