Explanation: I am an authorized user on my wife's credit card. She added me because I came to the US recently an I need to build my credit score / credit history somehow. She's been spending a lot of money recently using that card, so the credit utilization on that card is 95% now. She is carrying that balance (about 8k) from month to month and just pays the minimal payment. I noticed that it started affecting my credit score as well (it dropped from 713 to 701 since mid-July).
What should I do? Will canceling that account (currently the oldest on my history, ~1 year) have more negative effect to my score than just leaving things as they are now?
PS: My wife has never missed a payment, pays all the bills on time, even though the payments are pretty low.
