Solar Batteries come in 3 distinctive types.
Flooded lead acid,
Gelled lead acid (aka gel batteries),
and AGM lead acid (aka AGM batteries).
Neither gelled or AGM batteries are designed to leak. However, if a gelled battery is charged in an inverted state, it can leak the electrolyte. An AGM battery never leaks.
Flooded batteries however, can pose a problem. When a flooded battery is discharged and frozen, it can burst the container, allowing the acid to spill out as it thaws. This can cause both a environmental spill, and cause corrosion to the electrical equipment surrounding the battery installation.
For this and many other reasons, many choose the more efficient, safer, and maintenance free AGM battery design indoors. Even when the inspector doesn't demand it.
I did not locate a solar panel laptop itself, but there are solar panel laptop charger for the laptop battery. these will last many years and substitute for buying a laptop battery every year.
Put the solar panel in the sun;Attach the red wire of the panel to the positive terminal of the battery;Attach the black wire of the panel to the negative terminal.
A few variables are involved like, does the solar panel have a charge controller, what condition the battery is before you start and how much sun is the solar panel receiving.
battery A generator electrical outlet solar panel wind turbine or any source a voltage can be obtained.
It depends on the size of the solar panel and how well built the product is and the energy holding capacity of the battery.
No set answer to that. It depends on the capacity of the battery, the size and efficiency of the solar panel and the intensity of the sunlight.
If the 12 volt solar panel output voltage is always higher than the 6.5 watt battery voltage. To charge a battery, a voltage greater than the battery must be applied to the battery, otherwise the battery will try to charge the charger.
You need to use a blocking diode wired in series to prevent battery discharge via the solar panel at times of no sunlight, eg nighttime.
To answer this question the output current and voltage of the solar panel would be needed.
A solar panel on the roof, absorbs light from the sun to produce electricity, sufficient to power the home, and charge a battery in a generator. When rain clouds impede the sunlight or when nightfalls, the battery powered generator is automatically switched on, to power the home, and also power-up its own battery, so that if solar light for some reason does not happen to reach the home's solar panel for a very long time, the generator can keep going.
With the proper charging equipment, yes.
use cables to the positive and the negetive.
