1. vegetables have protein also but a single vegetable eg. cabbage don't contain all the basic proteins needed by human body. so a vegetarian should take mixed type of vegetables and in large amount. 2. meats like beef contain zinc which is a must for human sperm to be effective for fertilization. so meat is needed in some amount.
