BTB solution or bromothymol blue solution is an indicator for CO₂ turning a light green or yellow (extreme) depending on the amount of CO₂ indicated. As an student from a school that has recently done this experiment I can verify this information
CAN SNAIL PRODUCED carbon that can reacted with bromothymol
It turns yellow after we exhaled into the btb solution..:)

The color of the bromthymol blue solution or blue btb is yellow after you exhaled into it..:)
It turns yellow
BTB stains hands and clothes. As carbon dioxide is absorbed from the breath into the solution, forming carbonic acid, the solution changes color from green to yellow.

It depends on what indicator you use. An alkaline solution will have a pH-value >7. So if you're using BTB, it'll be blue. If you're using Fenolftalein, then it'll be pink.

Bromothymol blue is blue in a solution with a pH over 7,6.
BTB is an acid indicator. by adding carbon dioxide to the solution, it will turn into carbonic acid (a weak acid) turns green in low concentration and yellow in high concentration.
