Nothing. It removes the hair like any other removal system. It does NOT make hair grow in coarser; that is an old-wives' tale. The reason it 'feels' coarser is becasue the shaving chops off the end of the hair, making it blunt and so it feels rougher when it regrows. Shaving is very quick, painless and cheap and is by far the best way of removing facial hair. Men have been doing it for thousands of years.
