Akin to global warming, just theories.
The amount of hours that happen at night during the Winter can vary greatly by location on Earth. For instance, near the North Pole, it can be dark the entire winter.
It Is closest to the earth In the winter.
Nothing. It cannot happen.
earth is closer to the Sun during our winter
NORTH
A nuclear war, which would result in a nuclear winter and the end of most if not all of life on Earth.
Winter. Dust and debris will block the sun.
The earth is actually closer to the sun during the winter in the northern hemisphere
No. A nuclear winter (by its name) is a cold period brought on by dust and debris in the atmosphere blocking out the sun after a nuclear explosion. This lack of sun would cause the earth to cool dramatically depending on the size of the blast. If a nuclear winter occurred we would be heading into another ice age rather than away from it.
Everything dies. It is called a nuclear winter when there is so much debris in the atmosphere it blocks the sun. It is speculated that if several nuclear weapons are used the earth would go into a nuclear winter for several years because of the debris in the atmosphere. So, if people survive the blast, radiation sickness, and other conditions they will also have to deal with an age of no sun and live in permanent winter.
Further away from the equator, they'd get more pronounced. A bigger area would never get night during summer, and never day during winter.
The way the earth is positioned on it's axes during the winter months positiones the sun closer to the earth.
