Asteroids constantly hit planet earth, it is just that when they enter in contact with the atmosphere they will start burning and getting destroyed, infact what will actually fall to earth is incredibly small dust.
Relax, the planet will be fine. People on the other hand ...
It would be better to ask what would happen if Earth hit a star, as stars are much larger than Earth is. The planet would be vaporized by the intense heat.
NO!
well you see, when a planet, hits another planet, it blows up. you stupid prick
Well......I depends if a metier hits Earth Or a Giant Earthquake wipes out the whole planet!!!!
After a meteoroid hits Earth, it is called a meteorite. This is when the space rock survives its journey through the atmosphere and reaches the planet's surface.
It can be either absorbed or reflected.
NO! And the proof is its already 2013 no hit and earth isnt in the middle of the solar system and many planets are in it so I say planet x isnt going to collide with earth and if it is a meteorite then theres a really big chance planet x hits the huge sun and melts there
That is unlikely to happen any time soon. Both Earth and Venus move around the Sun in fairly stable orbits.
When the sun's energy hits the Earth, approximately 30% is reflected back into space, 20% is absorbed by the atmosphere, and the remaining 50% reaches the Earth's surface where it is absorbed and used for various processes like heating the planet and powering the water cycle.
depending on the size it could destroy the planet or impact in the water and not do much. It all depends on the size of said asteroid!
An explosion. Sometimes, depending on the surface of the planet, it leaves a crater. (75% of Earth is covered with water, and considerable areas of Saturn's moon Titan appear to be covered with some sort of liquid.)
