While assuming your parking/emergency brake is properly adjusted, your car will stop. At higher speeds, say over 50 mph, your car will skid and leave rubber on the road. If you happen to turn your wheels while pulling the emergency brake then you'd do whats called a drift.
Bad things can happen to your car if done at high speeds. I would not recommend doing this.
You have an alignment problem. Possible problems that help with this are tires, brakes.
Time for new brakes or adjustment.
You have a problem with the brakes, have a mechanic check it out soon before you have no brakes.
The brakes are the primary cause of stopping a car whilst driving.
sounds like you need new brakes
Check the rear brakes. Pull the drums/brake pads and check the brakes for cracking. Take it to a tire shop and ask them to pull the rear tires off the rims to check for heat damage. If the tire has turned grey where it touches the rim, it has been damaged and shouldn't be used any longer.
You do not need to wait to lt the brakes cool down from city driving, if you are in a race on the other hand everything changes. If your brakes are bright orange when you get out of you car then you should check the oil coolant system.
Press the brakes or down shift
Well before you go out and get factory brakes i wood try and pump your brakes before you going driving the car, pump at least 10 times or more to be safe.
you are going to crash the car of it will roll away
Your car may be making a squeaking noise when you press the brakes due to worn brake pads or brake rotors. This can happen when the brake pads are worn down and the metal backing plate is rubbing against the rotor. It is important to have your brakes inspected and repaired by a professional mechanic to ensure safe driving.
