It is up to you and your doctor together to determine what method might work for you. If you can't take combined hormonal contraception, your options are Depo Provera, Nexplanon, Mirena, Paragard, and the progestin-only pill.
Yes, "depo" is a root word meaning "to put" or "to place." It is commonly used in words like "deposit" and "depository."
I just had my depo provera last month and now I developed severe hives all over. I was given prednisone and hydroxyzine. I know it will take at least 3 months or 6 (i hope not) for this depo to get out of my system. Has any of you ladies had experience this problem and if so what happened and was there any other kind of medicine the doctor put you on. Feeling depressed =(
Dear Reader: It is not normal and I don't have enough information to tell where it is going. Depo-Provera has a web site and help line. I would ask them and possibly also plan a visit with my doctor. Dwight Hi. When I was put on the depo shot, I bled for 3 months straight. I went to the doctor and they told me it was normal. So I wouldn't worry.
I had the depo shot and it made me go into a 3 month bleeding cycle. my doc said this does happen in some cases. she gave me some pills to help me stop the bleeding and told me that i can no longer have the depo shot. everybody is different. No that is not normal. Especially if you are on the depo provera shot. Either way you should go call your doctor/gynocologist and explain the problem. They might put you on another form of birth control, or I *think* they have some kind of antibiotic of your on depo and dont stop bleeding. I dont know for sure--thats why you should call your doctor
you could be. Are you under stress? Are you sure you are ovulating? Those are some other reasons you don't get your period. Also, I was on depo for 6 years, and was not ovulating once I got off it (no period either) (It is a downfall of depo, no period for so long, when you get off it your body can still be outta whack)You should see your doctor they can give you a hormone pill to jump start things for you. Also, depo can take 12 to 18 months to get fully out of your system. When I got off depo and was not getting my period i had sore and swallon nippled and boobs, headaches, nausea, sore lower back and hip pain. All signs of pregnancy, but it was my body going through withdrawl.

Cut a potato in half and put it on the abcess, leave it there until swelling and redness goes away. If it doesn't get better soon, go see a doctor.
It would be a very good idea to visit a doctor to discuss your symptoms.ANOTHER ANSWER:Yes, some of those are side effects from the depo shot as far as nausea, fatigue, headaches... but as far as gasping for air i really don't think that is a side effect. When you are going through this relax yourself. You should go see you DOCTOR about that. Your blood pressure being high, I have no idea... Talk to your doctor about that as well.-I was on the depo shot and was put through pure hell. Do not get this shot ever again.... If you are not off of it, get off IMMEDIATELY!
