The first is Professor Layton and the Curious Village. The Game was released slightly different forms between the Japan, UK, and USA markets, but retained the same name. The second is Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box and was released in the USA market on August 25 2009. It was released in Japan on November 29 2007. The release name in Japan was Professor Layton and the Devil's Box. Professor Layton and Pandora's Box is to be released in the UK on September 25 2009. The third is Professor Layton and the Final Time Journey and was released in Japan on November 27 2008. It is not yet scheduled for release into other markets nor are any games to be released after it. On March 11 2009 Level 5 announced a new series of three prequels to the game beginning with the First installment Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute set for a fall 2009 release in Japan. The actual name for Japan's market for the first game in the series maybe Professor Layton and the Devil's Flute.

In Puzzle 86 of "Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box," the challenge is to determine how many different ways you can arrange five identical coins in a straight line with the condition that no two coins can be adjacent. The answer is 6 different arrangements. To visualize it, think of placing gaps between the coins to ensure they are not next to each other.
