These mysterious white patches are caused by one sweating, and then, directly jumping into the shower or a pool. It's a bit of an old wives tale. One should always stop sweating before they head into a shower, it has something to do with the changes in temperature. I found I had these white patches in school a lot, as we would have PE then head straight to the showers. My suggestion is to wait for about 10 minutes for your body to cool down before heading for a rinse. Hope this helps!
