This depends on the type of snake. Some snakes are harmless to humans ( though a bite could potentially cause infections, etc so sanitation measures should be taken for all bites). If a snake is toxic, not all bites inject venom but under the idea that you were bitten and injected with venom by a clinically venomous snake, you should go to the ER and receive anti venom as soon as possible. Remove any constricting clothing(snake bites can cause swelling), decrease your activity level and stay calm(blood flow will not be as quick, lessening the spread of the venom via blood). Despite, any an all precautions taken, the best advice would be to stay aware from the snake, regardless of its toxicity and always watch your step when in grassy, leaf-covered, wildlife type areas. Do not try to poke or touch any snake because if you can do either, you are generally within striking distance.
Most bites cause only minor harm, but the bite of a poisonous snake can kill you or make you very ill.
a snake because it has venom
Snakes do not sting, they bite. A snake would bite a human if it felt threatened by that human.Sometimes it is actually an instinctive thing.

A snake bite first affects the blood stream and the area immediately around the bite. If the snake is venomous, a raised infected area may raise up around the bite.
