The answer depends on how much hydrocodone you were taking daily and for how long (days, weeks, months, etc). Edit your question and then repost. I am not a medical professional but I've been through what your asking, a few times too many, so I could help if I had some specifics.

Can you take oxycodone to get off hydrocodone?

It may help with the withdrawls yes, but hten you are going to be addicted to the pain pill so it's best just to go to the hospital and have them detox you in the ER and go home and tough it out as bad as it seems!! Good luck friend!

What are some remedies to help detox from hydrocodone?

You can stop hydrocodone completely all at once -- you don't need to taper off. Detoxing will take 4-5 days, during which you'll experience symptoms like a bad flu -- no worse and no better. Consider taking this time off work if you can. If you can't, you'll still make it. Drink LOTS of liquids and, if you have trouble keeping things down, shift over to a clear liquid diet for the duration (but only if you need to). Sport Drinks should be included if you can't keep food down (which is rare -- it's like a FLU :} ), as they replenish electrolytes. Be aware that withdrawal from Hydrocodone is Depressing in an emotional sense. Be prepared. Remember that this isn't something permanent; it's a phase that will pass SOON. Get someone to help you. This is an easy detox compared to alcohol or barbituates, but it's nice to have an understanding body nearby. If your hydrocodone fixation results from a need for pain control, plan a way to manage pain while you're detoxing. This detox -- unlike others -- will not have permanent effects. If you can do the 4 or so days you'll be fine.

Has morphine tablets ever been used to help someone taper off of hydrocodone?

Probably, but the drug of choice is Suboxone, in a clinical detox setting.Absolutely not. Morphine is far more addictive than hydrocodone could dream of being. It won't taper you off of any narcotic. It will make you far more addicted. Even though they are two totally different drugs, they still bond to the same receptors in your brain so you will still be narcotic addicted. If you are talking in terms of a taper then you would use hydro to taper off of hydro.

Is drug rehab the same thing as detox?

Drug rehab gets you sober from drug using and a detox cleans your body from the toxins and drugs. Detox only keeps you long enough to get the drugs out of your system. Rehab helps with some after care to help you stay off of them.

How long does it take to stop taking Suboxone as in at what rate should you lower your dosage safely?

Suboxone requires tapering. If you have used it for a three to four day detox, then it should only take the last day to day and a half to taper off of it, by cutting the usual 8/2 twice a day dose in half (e.g. 1/2 pill twice a day for one day), then in half again (e.g. 1/2 pill once a day for the last day of detox). However, if Suboxone has been used for a longer period of time, then more gradual tapering is desirable. As always, it is best to consult with your prescribing physician.
