Especially Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven: Both Mozart and Beethoven studied his works for their own knowledge on counterpoint and Mozart wrote an arrangement to Handel's most well known work Messiah. He also used the theme from Messiah, "And With His Stripes" in the Kyrie of his Requiem. He is reputed to have said of him, "Handel understands affect better than any of us.
