Cover small blisters with an adhesive bandage, and large ones with a plastic-coated gauze that absorbs moisture. I'd say the first thing to do is to figure out what's causing the blisters, which in turn should affect the first aid picture, and will decide the long term course of medical treatment. That said, I'd gauze pack the area with easy-release gauze and transport. If you're in back country, I'd apply an analgesic cream if I had on (something with topical lidocaine), lightly gauze it to prevent irritation, and hope for the best. You don't really want to apply hydrocortizone or antiseptic unless you have a good idea if the blisters are the result of an allergic or infective process. If you touch the area, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly as soon as you're done. Exam gloves would, as ever, be a good idea. Do NOT pop the blisters!
