I would like to start with,The model 56 winchester was only made in .22short,or long rifle calibers. If you find that this is the case then the value of these rifles run from 600 dollars for a gun with 60% original finish remaining,up to 1,100 dollars foe a fine example with 95% original finish remaining.I would say that you could have a model 55 winchester which would be correct for the 30 wcf chambering. If this is the case then your rifle would be valued at between 325 dollars for a rifle with only 10% original finish remaining up to 1,600 dollars for a fine example with 90% original finish remaining.

The Winchester Model 1886 in .38-56 caliber was produced in relatively limited numbers, with approximately 4,200 units manufactured between 1886 and 1930. This model was part of a broader series of lever-action rifles, but the .38-56 caliber was less common compared to other calibers like .45-70. The production numbers reflect the specific demand and historical context of that time period.
Bert, I have a Winchester Model 94. It says Model 94 on the gun. It is a 30-30. It is a lever action. The serial number is 410 56 44. It has open sites. There is no saddle rings. The gun is in EXCELLENT condition. That Serial number appears to be made between 1906 and 1907. Jessica Bennett, Firearms, Record Specialist from the Buffalo Bill Historical Center said " Unfortunately, the records for yourfirearm no longer exist. " That being said, Bert would have a good "fair market price" for this gun?
