The Squire not only helped the Knight get ready for battle, but he also fought in battle with him. The Squire also went everywhere the Knight went to learn the values of Chivalry, and how to be a Knight, so when knighting season came the Squire would be Dubbed a Knight and he would be granted a Squire of his own.

A knights apprentice is called a squire and they learn from him. They would have to follow the knight into battle and dreess him for battle. They would hold the knights extra weapons. At the age of 21 the become a knight and then they take a squire themself and it goes on and on.
A knight in shining armor is refering to the medieval ages when knights armor was cleaned and polished. When a knight would return from a battle or conquest, he could of been said to being a knight in shining armor.

Usually one first became a page when one was eight years old. As a page, a boy would serve his lord until he became a teenager. When a teenager, a boy would become an esquire. As an esquire the boy would study battle skills and follow a knight to battle. When his training was complete (this was usually when he reached 22 years of age) he was knighted.
