I had a 1993 GS, an alternator costs around $90-$120. At the most other wise your getting ripped off. They are actually pretty easy to change. Labor should only take 25 mins to 1 hour at the most. Unless a complete moron is fixing it. And labor rates are around 60 bucks an hour.
Disconnect the Regal battery. Remove the alternator belt. Disconnect the alternators wiring, then unbolt and remove the alternator. Reverse the procedures for installation.
Disconnect the battery, then remove the alternator belt on the Regal. Unhook the alternator wiring and bolts, then remove it. Installation of the new unit is reverse of the procedures.
