A white collar worker is someone who works in a professional, manager or administrative type job. Usually in an office building. For example, lawyers, business managers, and Accountants would be considered a white collar worker. A blue-collar worker is a job that requires manual labor. These are typically manufacturing, mining, sanitation, oil field, construction, or other types of physical work. Examples of these are mechanics, miners, janitors, construction workers, and oil riggers.
People who are NOT white collar workers would be labourers, mechanics, gardeners, truck drivers, and such like jobs. 'White collar' workers would be clerks, bank tellers, librarians etc.
