Cake seems to be the only obligatory food at a birthday party. Maybe cupcakes would do if you do not want to serve cake. After that, anything you and your guests would like would be fine.
Finger food like chicken wings, or marshmallows. Anything that the birthday girl/boy would like. Of course, don't forget the birthday cake!!
