It will take approx 3 1/2 to 4 hours to drive. You can stay on I-10 the whole way Or if you want to take a more scenic route you can get off of I-10 in Lafayette and take Highway 90. That will add about 30 mins driving time but it is a more relaxed trip and avoids driving through Baton Rouge. I have sat in traffic in Baton Rouge for over two hours when their has been an accident. Staying on I-10 you will be able to drive on a causeway throught the Henderson Swamp area which is beautifull at sun rise or sun set. On the flip side if there is an accident on that bridge your stuck until it clears.
