What would be the problem if my radiator pipe burst and then my water ran out and my car just cut its self off whilst i was driving a vauxhall astra 1.7dti Y reg?

You basically ruined the engine. At very least you warped the head and it would have to be machined and replaced. YOu will have to find out what that would cost to have done vs. junking the car and buying another
