Why does steering wheel vibrate when brakes are applied?

This is probably due to worn brake rotors on the brakes, if there is no vibration when driving then this will be the cause.

I had new brakes rotors and calipers and the brakes are squeling now.The garage said my brakes where to hard and they had metal in them they sanded them.Still squeling What could be the cause.?

first of all, the pads may be semi-metallic and have chunks of metal in them which may cause the squeal, change to a less metallic pad may help, also the backing of the pads should have an anti-squeal gel applied to them, when you apply the brakes, the pads will hyper vibrate and can cause a squeal. The gel will stop the vibrating. first of all, the pads may be semi-metallic and have chunks of metal in them which may cause the squeal, change to a less metallic pad may help, also the backing of the pads should have an anti-squeal gel applied to them, when you apply the brakes, the pads will hyper vibrate and can cause a squeal. What would cause a 2003 maxima to shake when hitting the brakes?

A common reason is that the front rotors have warped. Go check out WikiAnswers on the topic of "warped brake rotors". Rotors should wear out smoothly in normal driving. Use of the brakes that generate lots of heat (hard braking, riding the brakes) will result in warped rotors.

Why do my brakes vibrate so bad when I stop on my 1997 Volvo 850?

Vibrating brakes are almost always a symptom of worn rotors. When the rotor wears down, or has grooves, the brake pad can no longer make a flush connection with the rotor. This will cause the caliper (which holds the brake pad) to move in and out as it tries to establish a flush connection with the rotor. The rapid movement of the caliper is what causes your brake pedal to vibrate.

Why might cause a 2001 Toyota Tacoma to vibrate when the brakes are applied.?

More than likely you have a warped rotor(s). You need to determine if it's coming from the front or rear brakes or both. The suspect rotor(s) would need to be turned or replaced along with brake pads if needed.

On the 2002 Nissan Maxima what would cause the radiator fan to vibrate when it turns on?

I just had that same problem on my 02 Maxima SE. My radiator was shaking so hard, and my fan would vibrate so loud, that if you didn't look at my car, you'd think it was a motorcycle by the way it sounded. That was embarrassing. It sounded just awful! I bought a new radiator fan. It cost about $100 and $60 to service it. It works just fine now. It runs so quietly now! :oD

How do you adjust the drum brakes on a 95 stratus?

INITIAL ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE Be sure parking brake lever is fully released. Fully apply the vehicles service brakes 2 to 3 times by depressing the brake pedal as far as possible. This will cause the automatic adjuster mechanism to correctly adjust the rear drum brakes. Apply and release the park brake lever one time after the service brakes have been correctly adjusted. This procedure has correctly adjusted the vehicle's rear service brakes.
