It could be the bulb, sometimes they do that.
Make sure the emergency brake pedal is retracted all the way up. When the Ebrake is on the headlights on tahoes go off. Answer: If the DRL's are working, then it isn't bulbs. Not being funny, but make sure you have the light switched turned on. You'll know it's on when the dash lights up.

usually the headlights have a fusible link near the battery but check for power to the highbeam switch and headlight switch first.
its got to be two things either your headlights or the headlight switch, theres no relay so straight power from the battery to the switch to the headlamps. just change your headlight and it should work.

The headlights run on a different fuse from all other lights. Locate and check this fuse. Also the headlight switch may have a circuit breaker inside and after time it will get weak and not reset. Check for power to the switch and if you have power to the switch and then the switch has gone bad and should be replaced.
