What would cause the gas pedal not to work on a 2003 Ford F-250 power stroke diesel?

I purchased a new pedal with sensors on it . Basically a throttle positioning sensor its all together just plug it in and reset codes. This worked for 4 months and started having the same problems again. Press the pedal and it would go nowhere even with it to the floor. Take truck to Ford and demand they replace it and the wiring pins - recall 03b03- ford motor company #
